Barry R. Wegman is the Clinic Director. Mr. Wegman joined The Law Offices of David A. Tilem in 2005 with more than 20 years of litigation and bankruptcy experience. He is the senior litigation attorney in matters involving real estate, business disputes, and alternative dispute resolution. His career includes representing real estate brokers and agents in malpractice disputes, representing people and companies who have been sued for premises liability, representing various parties in real estate litigation and handling other forms of business litigation. Mr. Wegman earned his law degree from the University of West Los Angeles, School of Law and has been practicing law since 1986. He is an active member of his community of Sherman Oaks, where he has served as the President and Executive Director of the Sherman Oaks Chamber of Commerce. In 1994, after the Northridge earthquake caused major damage, former L.A. City Councilmember Zev Yaroslavsky appointed Mr. Wegman to the Earthquake Recovery Committee where he helped create a redevelopment program and recovery plan for the community.

Marcy Carman is one of the "get it all done" employees of The Law Offices of David A. Tilem. Not only does she make it seem easy, but she is always smiling. Marcy makes everyone around her feel positive about whatever they are doing. As busy as she may be, she always has time to help out and get one more thing done before she goes home for the day.

Lorena Aguirre has been with the firm for more than a year, working her way up from file clerk to secretary. Lorena helps prepare and file Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases for The Law Offices of David A. Tilem. She is steady and reliable, always ready to lend a hand. Lorena is another one of the law office staff who never stops smiling. Lorena is fluent in Spanish and able to help our Spanish speaking clients get through the bankruptcy process quickly and easily.

The Moderate Fee Bankruptcy Clinic is proudly sponsored by The Law Offices of David A. Tilem and was conceived by Mr. Tilem. Mr. Tilem is truly the bankruptcy ‘pro’ with over 25 years of expertise in the area of bankruptcy law representing anyone and everyone who has any interaction with bankruptcy laws. In 1995, Mr. Tilem was certified by the American Board of Certification, a nationwide organization, as a Business Bankruptcy Specialist. Two years later he received certification as a Bankruptcy Specialist by the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization. From 2003 – 2007, Mr. Tilem served as a Member and former Chair of the Bankruptcy Law Advisory Commission which writes, sponsors and grades the examination for attorneys who wish to be certified as bankruptcy specialists. David Tilem has been named by Los Angeles Magazine to the "Super Lawyer List for Southern California" for the last three consecutive years.
Mr. Tilem is the author of several, well respected legal articles and text book chapters on bankruptcy law. He is a member of and occasional speaker for numerous bankruptcy law professional associations and organizations including: the American Bankruptcy Institute, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (serving as local chair for the Central District of CA), the Los Angeles County Bar Association Section on Commercial Law and Bankruptcy, the Los Angeles Bankruptcy Forum, and the Financial Lawyers Conference. In 2004, he founded the Central District Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys Association which is the second largest trade group of consumer bankruptcy attorneys in the Country. He has served as its past President and continues to serve on its Board of Directors. Mr. Tilem is a graduate of Brown University where he received his Bachelor's Degree, and Loyola Law School in Los Angeles where he earned his law degree. He is admitted to practice law in California and Massachusetts (inactive status).
